MMA Cage Fighter Drinks Shroom Tea, Promptly Rips The Still Beating Heart From His Trainter

“Wyatt told police he had drunk a cup of tea spiked with hallucinogenic mushrooms and became convinced his close friend Taylor Powell was possessed. According to an autopsy Powell,21, bled to death after his heart was ripped out.The coroner said Powell had been alive when the organ was ripped out after his chest had been sliced open with a knife.  Wyatt told the police he thrown the heart into a fire along with other organs that he had removed from the body.  He told investigators he cooked the body parts because he was fearful Powell was still alive and he “needed to stop the Devil.”

Whatever you do, don’t think about this article the next time you are taking shrooms..

News of the Day :NASA completes 52-year mission to find, kill God

Finally, NASA does something productive!

“I am ecstatic to tell you all today that we have beheld the awesome visage of the supreme architect of the cosmos, and we have murdered Him,” jubilant administrator Charles Bolden said after being drenched with champagne by other celebrating NASA employees. “There have been innumerable setbacks, missteps, and hardships over the past 50 years, but we always stayed true to our ultimate goal and we never gave up.”

“We finally got the son of a bitch!” Bolden continued. “He’s dead! God is dead!”

Religion News

Not long ago Pew Research Center did a survey about political candidates for the 2012 republican primary. One segment of the survey asked people what qualities they were and were not likely to support.  People said they were most likely to support someone who had served in the military, followed closely by someone who had served as governor.  Reasonable enough.  At the other end of the list, meaning qualities people were least likely to support, was ATHEIST! Meaning it would probably be easier to get elected to the republic primary if you had been divorced, Mormon, gay, or had an extramarital affair… WTF?

“Among traits perceived negatively, 61% say they would be less likely to support a presidential candidate who does not believe in God, which is little changed from four years ago. A past extramarital affair is viewed even more negatively today than in 2007: Currently, 46% say they would be less likely to support a candidate who had an extramarital affair, up from 39% in February 2007.”

Religion News of the Day

There was a basic quiz given to Americans to test their knowledge of world religions. Turns out americans do not know a whole lot about beliefs systems. Even their own.

“The researchers polled nearly 3,500 Americans and asked them 32 basic questions about world religions, their texts, main figures, and tenets. Most respondents got about half the questions wrong. For example, 45 percent of Catholics polled did not know that the Catholic church teaches that the consecrated bread and wine in holy communion are said to actually and literally become the body and blood of Christ. About as many Americans did not know that the Dalai Lama is Buddhist.”

Religion Politics of the Day

With elections just around the corner (2 years), campaigning info is starting to become an annoyingly frequent segment on every news channel.  So i will try to start dedicating regular segments to the bullshit we will be forced to endure.  To start, here is a pic detailing what the previous presidents beliefs were.   I’m not sure what Dutch Reformed is… I think it has something to do with heroin.

Religion News of the Day

A report commissioned by the Vatican found that priest who sexually abuse children are not actually pedophiles, they are just a product of the social movements of the 60s.  Thank god pedophiles stop being produced back by the time i was born.

The researchers were unable to pinpoint a specific genesis of the abuse, and said that the epidemic of child molesting priests was unforeseeable. The report blamed the sexual revolution and the sexually permissive culture of the 1960s and 1970s for the child molestation.

This argument has been made before. In a Dec. 20, 2010, speech, Pope Benedict said that though the church accepted some responsibility for the abuse, the Catholic priests were merely products of a culture steeped in perversion and that their actions must be seen in light of “the context of these times. … There is a market in child pornography that seems in some way to be considered more and more normal by society.”

Faith Healing on Trial: Miracle or Medicine?

So apparently ignoring medical treatment in favor of prayer to cure the large tumor above your daughter’s eye is not the best course of action.  Who would have thought praying doesn’t actually cause miracles to happen.  Either that or God has a fundamental dislike for 18 month old girls.

“Tim and Rebecca Wyland are members of the Followers of Christ Church, who refuse modern medicine and instead rely on prayer and faith healing. Their daughter, Alayna, has a large tumor over her left eye which went untreated and could leave her permanently blind. She was finally placed in temporary state custody and began receiving treatment.”

“This is of course not the first time that parents have gone on trial for child abuse or neglect for refusing their children medical attention. Though freedom of religion is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the practice of that religion does not give followers license to break the law — especially when the result is injury or death to a child.”

Religion Exploitive Opportunity of the Day

What do you do with your dog or cat when the rapture is fast approaching and you know for a fact that God loves you so much you will be one of the few to ascend to heaven?  Hire an atheist pet sitter! (This actually kind of pisses me off, i spent a solid 20-30 min trying to think of a way to exploit this whole Judgment Day thing for personal gain, I should have thought of this)

You’ve committed your life to Jesus. You know you’re saved. But when the Rapture comes, what’s to become of your loving pets who are left behind?” Eternal Earth-Bound Pets says on its website, offering to “take that burden off your mind.”

The post-doomsday pet rescue service already has 259 clients, who have paid $135 for the first pet and $20 for each additional pet at the same address, to ensure the faithful animal companions are looked after and loved even when their Christian owners have gone to the other side.”
